Board Members

Agenda

1 Discussion on the Blood Rule

A  discussion was held regarding the so-called “Blood Rule.” As not all board members were present, it was decided to conduct a  separate vote on whether the IDRC should advocate for a modification of this  rule as part of the upcoming rule changes. After intensive discussion, there  was general agreement in favor of reviewing the rule. However, any  modification should be considered within the broader context of revising the  general regulations, with the goal of establishing a unified solution across  all disciplines.

2 Additional Rule Change Proposals

Further proposals for rule changes—previously sent to the board via  email—were discussed.

The  following proposals will not be included in the rule changes:

  • 5.1.       Clear measurable limits in warm-up
  •
  • Focus on fairness in “Dead of Formula Eros”
  •

All other  proposals were approved unanimously.

3 Discussion on the Blood Rule

Ronan  Murphy and Diana joined the board meeting online. The necessity  of adjusting the current Blood Rule was discussed again.

It was agreed to coordinate internally regarding a concrete proposal.

4 Review of the Three-Star Requirement

In  response to a question from Isabell, Ronan Murphy stated that the existing  rule—requiring riders to compete in a three-star event before entering a  four-star event—may be worth reconsidering. This topic will be discussed  further.

5 Transparency Register for Judges

The IDRC’s  request to introduce a transparency register for judges. As an initial step,  the Code of Conduct will be revised by the FEI to increase the level  of transparency, which is considered essential. Once updated, the joint  proposal will be discussed further.

6 Use of Artificial Intelligence in Dressage

Ronan Murphy reported on the current status of artificial intelligence in  dressage sport. With the help of external expertise, progress is being  made—particularly because the FEI possesses one of the best databases  regarding judges’ results, allowing insights into judging behavior.Work in  this area will continue. Ronan Murphy also presented a brief overview of the  current tracking system, which is reportedly developing well.

 7 Changes to Competition Tests

A working group is currently developing proposals related to changes in  competition tests. These proposals have not yet been finalized.
