Agenda
1. Elections – Athlete Representation (FEI)
Topic: KR briefly outlined the upcoming elections for the athlete representatives, both for the FEI Dressage Committee representative and the Overall Active Athletes’ Representative, including the timeline and election procedure.
Following discussions with Yvonne, it was confirmed that she will not stand for a second term. From the side of IW and KR, Larissa Pauluis was proposed as a potential candidate. All attending Board members unanimously supported this proposal.
Regarding the election of the Overall Active Athletes’ Representative, the Board agreed that Jessica Kürten will have the full support of the IDRC should she decide to stand for re-election.
Notes/Decisions: KR will inform Larissa Pauluis about the Board’s decision and will assist her with the preparation and completion of the application documents.
2. IDRC Membership Growth Strategy
Topic: KR briefly presented the ideas and proposals that had been shared with the Board members prior to the meeting regarding future membership growth initiatives.
The Board unanimously agreed that the most effective way to attract new members is through direct personal outreach by the Board members themselves.
It was also noted that several membership fees are currently still outstanding.
In addition, the Board discussed the possibility of creating a small promotional flyer and potentially organizing an event during the upcoming FEI World Championships Aachen 2026 in order to further promote the IDRC and encourage new memberships.
Notes/Decisions: MK will circulate the current membership list to all Board members.
KR will prepare a first draft of a promotional flyer for the IDRC membership initiative.
3. Dressage Test Development
Topic: KK reported on the recent event in Warendorf and explained that the various proposed dressage test adaptations were generally received positively.
In particular, it was noted that the piaffe movements were significantly improved following the “stretching” exercise within the test sequence.
At this stage, possible changes are being considered only for the Grand Prix test, while no modifications are currently planned for the Grand Prix Special. No final decisions regarding the implementation of these changes have yet been made.
MK added that the Grand Prix test has not been substantially revised or modernised for a very long time.
The Board also discussed whether it could be beneficial to develop three different Grand Prix tests, with the specific test to be ridden drawn by lot at the respective competition.
Notes/Decisions: The Board agreed to further explore possible concepts and structures for three different Grand Prix tests, including potential variations in technical focus, degree of difficulty, and overall test composition.
4. Any Other Business (AOB)
Topic: CH raised the question of whether it would be beneficial to involve Christian Simonson more closely in the work of the Board in order to strengthen the representation of younger riders within the IDRC.
This suggestion was generally supported by all attending Board members.
The discussion then focused on in which capacity such involvement could take place. According to KR, no formal position for this role is currently within the statutes; however, involvement as an advisor to the Board should be possible.
Notes/Decisions: CH will speak with Christian Simonson to determine whether he would be interested in such a role and will report back to KR accordingly.
